PROUST
The sofa that transforms comfort into design.
Chateau d’Ax unveils Proust, a sofa designed by architect and designer Massimo Iosa Ghini, which embodies deep expertise in the realm of domestic comfort and relaxation.
For Milan Design Week 2025, Chateau d’Ax reaffirms its collaboration with key figures in international design, enriching its sofa collection with a project signed by Massimo Iosa Ghini.
The result is Proust, a tribute to both visual and physical comfort, featuring soft, organic lines that evoke a natural sense of welcome and warmth.
“I designed a recliner sofa inspired by movement,” explains Iosa Ghini. “Movement has always fascinated me—even when designing seating. It’s a fluid mechanism that follows the body, adapting to its shape and desires, transforming the sofa into a place of retreat and reflection. Here, comfort does not impose posture—it naturally takes shape around the anatomy of the person experiencing it.
Proust embodies generous elegance, where wellbeing becomes an expression of sensory richness. The cushions, soft and inviting, appear effortlessly placed, creating an enveloping atmosphere in perfect balance between softness and refinement.”
Conceived as a statement piece that encapsulates the tradition and expertise that have defined Chateau d’Ax for over 75 years, Proust is a design sofa that masterfully blends aesthetics, functionality, and innovation. The choice to create generous, softer, and more ergonomic forms meets the need for comfort while also allowing the technical components to be seamlessly integrated or concealed.
Proust is offered as a modular concept—available in traditional layouts (3-2-3-1) or in corner configurations thanks to the inclusion of chaise longues. Designed for contemporary living spaces, it comes with a wide range of customization options in terms of colors and upholstery materials, drawing from the entire Chateau d’Ax collection.
In the ongoing dialogue between form and function, and backed by its strong Italian artisanal tradition, Chateau d’Ax reaffirms its leadership and innovative strength in creating solutions that combine aesthetic appeal with the highest standards of comfort and elegance.
STANLEY
Born from the study of harmonious, organic, and natural forms: Stanley
Stanley is the new modular sofa from Chateau d’Ax. With its modern and welcoming design, it stands out for its flexibility and comfort. Designed by architect and designer Maurizio Manzoni, Stanley embodies instant elegance. Thanks to its harmonious lines that highlight the low-to-the-ground structure and its deep, inviting seats that offer a truly relaxing experience, Stanley is ideal for home settings, including minimalist and modern interiors.
The inspiration comes from the study of natural and organic forms, with the goal of enhancing the beauty of simplicity while delivering a cozy, enveloping comfort. The seats and backrests feature soft padding and refined quilted stitching, giving the sofa a plush and sophisticated look. Some modules include either side armrests or free-standing ones, both designed with rounded shapes that add a touch of elegance—always in line with a style centered around hospitality.
Available in both fixed-body and modular versions, Stanley allows for customized configurations to suit any living space. The design also includes a version with integrated technology, offering an adjustable footrest with multiple positions to ensure maximum functionality—without compromising on comfort.
STELVIO
An oasis of comfort designed to embrace the natural desire for relaxation.
Created to satisfy the innate need for comfort and characterized by soft, space-filling lines, Chateau d’Ax introduces a true oasis of relaxation: STELVIO. Designed by architect and designer Maurizio Manzoni, Stelvio is a modern, welcoming, and sophisticated sofa—a tribute to the timeless allure of 1950s design. Perfect for those who appreciate furniture with character and versatility, Stelvio is available both as a standalone piece and in modular configurations, allowing it to be tailored to suit any living space.
Comfort is a defining quality that no Chateau d’Ax sofa can do without. To make STELVIO even more inviting, its seats and backrests are crafted with soft padding and elegant quilted stitching. The collection includes a version featuring a footrest mechanism, allowing users to adjust their position and further enhance the sofa’s functionality.
Thanks to its modular design, STELVIO is a highly adaptable system, elegantly fitting into a wide range of interior design needs. The integrated mechanism allows the backrest to be raised for optimal ergonomic support, while the seat can slide forward, increasing its depth to create a personalized comfort experience. These features make STELVIO a dynamic system, where rounded geometric elements come together in a composition of soft volumes. The curved, enveloping armrests further enhance its welcoming feel.
Elevated off the floor by refined metal feet—discreetly visible only from the front—STELVIO conveys both lightness and strong personality. It offers a perfect balance between design and function, delivering an elevated comfort experience.
OLYMPIA
The quiet luxury design by Chateau d’Ax
Olympia, the new sofa designed by Corrado Dotti for Chateau d’Ax, draws inspiration from two sources: the ancient city on Mount Olympus and the famous Parisian theater, the first music hall in the French capital.
Both references evoke grandeur, visual impact, and an aesthetic that expresses Italian-style comfort, relaxation, and elegance through the language of design.
The enveloping seat and backrests are an ode to organic shapes, while the armrests follow a fluid line reminiscent of petals. The defining features of Olympia are its comfort and versatility—perfectly in tune with contemporary lifestyle trends, where living areas increasingly merge with workspaces within the home.
The pronounced folds of the leather lend a distinctive character, conveying a sense of refined softness that is visually striking even before being experienced.
Each design element is highlighted by a pair of tethers, visible even from the back, which emphasize the sofa’s comfort.
Free of mechanisms, Olympia’s lines are soft and curved, enhanced by tone-on-tone double stitching that adds to its aesthetic appeal. Every seat is fully upholstered on all sides, making it ideal even as a stand-alone piece.
Olympia is designed to appeal to a wide audience—true to Chateau d’Ax’s heritage, yet with its gaze firmly set on contemporary living.
CLOUD
Where comfort meets design and softness
Cloud: he sofa that embodies form, function, and extra-soft comfort.
Compactness and softness come together in a single concept, making it perfect for both formal use and total relaxation. This is Cloud: the Chateau d’Ax sofa designed by Studio RED, inspired by the image of large, cozy cushions.
Cloud stands out for the contrast between the solid, monolithic base and the soft contours that highlight the essence of comfort. The generous volumes of the seat cushion, the wide backrest, and the armrests are defined by a pair of tethers that further enhance the sofa’s “cloud-like” effect.
Unique features include a manually adjustable backrest mechanism that gently tilts to offer a comfortable, customizable headrest, and a sliding armrest that increases the seat width for added comfort.
The modular system of Cloud offers a wide range of configurations to suit any design need: from the classic and compact linear sofa to corner arrangements with or without a chaise longue. It also includes the iconic cocktail element—a hallmark of Chateau d’Ax models—that completes the sofa’s versatile composition options.
Comfort is further enhanced by the choice of internal materials, with polyurethane foam topped by a layer of Memory Foam for the seat, and Flexy Foam for the backrest.
Cloud is presented in a sophisticated contrast: a deep forest green leather (Category 5) paired with a tone-on-tone bouclé fabric from the Chateau d’Ax Design collection.
SIRIO
Contemporary Living According to Chateau d’Ax
Sirio is a modular upholstered system with a soft appearance that is also compact and monolithic. Comfort and rational aesthetics define its character, giving life to a seating system in which Studio Red expresses a design philosophy increasingly focused on the demand for comfort.
In the Canis Major constellation, Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky.
Likewise, the Sirio sofa stands out and draws the eye with its elegance and sophisticated design—marked by modernity, clean lines, and rational proportions softened by harmonious curves.
The continuous line of the armrest, which maintains a consistent height while transforming into a lumbar support, is the standout feature of the project. Enhancing this feature is a manually adjustable backrest: a pair of metal supports in a “gunmetal” finish allows the transition from lumbar support to a high, comfortable backrest.
A pleasant surprise, following this smooth motion, is the vertically paneled upholstery on the interior of the sofa: the inner armrest and lower backrest area showcase a refined, tailored attention to detail.
The backrest itself has been carefully designed: its profile is intentionally shaped to perfectly align with the lumbar support when in the closed position. The structured front view of the backrest contrasts with the curved silhouette of the seat, creating an interplay of volumes. The resulting effect is a play of full and empty spaces, casting sinuous shadows that bring the sofa to life.
Sirio is upholstered in Flexy Foam, combined with a resin-coated wadding to enhance the overall sense of comfort.
It is available in both linear and corner configurations, with or without an integrated end pouf. The versatile range also includes a version with a chaise longue.
Sirio is presented in a soft sage green leather with a slightly clouded effect, or alternatively in fabric or microfiber.
COSMO
A sofa of extraordinary comfort with a geometric and linear mood
The Chateau d’Ax sofa family expands with Cosmo.
Born from the expertise of the Chateau d’Ax Style Centre, Cosmo showcases generous proportions, with richly upholstered backrests and armrests, and a grounded seat base. In its Greek origin, the term cosmos signifies a harmonious and orderly universe, as opposed to chaos. A symbolic inspiration for the project, where every element is conceived as part of a whole—functional and consistent with the overall design vision.
Despite its linear geometry, Cosmo was developed to guarantee both comfort and functionality, revealing an elegant soul thanks to the meticulous attention paid to every detail. The tone-on-tone double stitching outlines the profiles, while the subtle “pulls” on each seat enhance its ergonomics. The unique “chain” mechanism allows the backrest to open from within the seat with an almost complete rotation, transforming into a comfortable headrest.
Tailored and stylistic details further enrich the sophisticated interplay of design elements: flared stitching on the back, making it ideal as a centerpiece in the living area to add uniqueness and class to any space; a “little envelope” stitch on the outer armrest; upholstery on all sides of each individual seat; and anti-slip feet that eliminate the need for connectors between modules.
Cosmo offers a wide range of versions, from linear to corner configurations, with various elements to create multiple layout solutions. The padding is made of Flexy Foam, offering differentiated density and flexible support tailored to the body’s needs.
